If what we are believing for can be accomplished without God’s help we wouldn’t need faith.
God sized visions require mountain moving faith.
What is this faith and how do we obtain it?
Faith is fact. It has substance. It is a powerful force. Faith is unseen, but so are other active forces: gravity, the ability of soil to make things grow, electromagnetism. Just like faith, we know these forces are real because we see their effects.
‘Faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things we hope for, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality-faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses.’ (Hebrew 11:1)
‘What so-ever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall receive them.’-Jesus
One of the most powerful ways to motivate our faith is to have an attitude of positive expectation. This type of attitude causes us to be full of hope, joy, and peace. We need to have strong desire, steady belief and hopeful expectation for faith to work.
Truly I say to you, if you have faith, and do not doubt,…even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will be done. And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and really believing, you will receive.’ –Jesus
Positive- Leaving no room for doubt. Does not entertain negative thoughts about something because it’s already accepted as fact. Just as real as if it had been. When it becomes real, the power of faith causes it to materialize.
‘Faith is not believing God can, it is knowing God will.’
God Himself created the world out of nothing. Paul explains that what we now see as the world was not made out of things that are visible. Creative energy is unseen and unrestricted but can be made into a form that can be seen.
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. –Hebrew 11:3
All things are possible, only believe. –Mark 9:23
Scriptural example: The disciples are unable to heal/deliver father’s son because of unbelief.
The father asked, “if you can do anything.’ and then, “I believe, help my unbelief.’ Jesus had to answer this prayer in order to heal the mans son. Sometimes our answer is being delayed because of our unbelief. We need to pray for God to help our unbelief.
Wishful thinking is not faith. We need the kind of faith that leaves No Room for doubt. Already accepted as fact. When we get to the place that what we are believing for becomes real our faith causes it to materialize.
Must be balanced with wisdom, work, and the truth of God’s word. Example: Believing for job without looking for one
Must be activated by works. “Faith without works is dead.’
How do we get to that point that we accept something as real before we have physical evidence of it?
1. We need to be sure that it is God’s will for us.
2. We can search the word for promises
3. We can pray and ask for God’s will
a. We must be to the point where we do not have a preference or we can deceive ourselves.
i. Not my will but thine be done
ii. God is not obligated to finish anything in our lives that He did not author/authorize
iii. God is obligated to get the resources to us, move on our behalf ect if what we are believing for is his will for our lives
4. Once we know what Gods will is we lock ourselves in.
a. Burn bridges
b. Begin to perform physical acts to bring it from the spiritual realm into the natural realm
c. Listen to God and perform prophetic acts, be careful that you are wanting Gods will, otherwise this is considered witchcraft.
d. Share your dream with other faith filled people at the right time. Timing is important!
i. Be careful who you tell because the lack of others faith can bring doubt and unbelief.
Some Specifics to Help Us Accomplish Our Dreams/Goals:
1. Establish a clear vision: Without a clear vision of a desired goal there is nothing for faith to operate on. We have to have an exact goal fixed in our mind.
2. We have to decide what we are willing to give and how we will give it to see our desire come to pass.
a. If you want to be a nurse for example it will require 4 years of your life in training.
b. Write a book, become a dancer, lose 20 pounds ect
3. Decide on an exact date by which we plan to accomplish our goal
4. Create a plan
a. Write out goals clearly and concisely
b. Read these written goals twice daily; morning & night
5. Visualize and feel ourselves in possession of our goal
6. Be willing to let go of the comfortable and familiar
a. Step out of our comfort zone in small and large ways
b. We have to learn to take risks
c. Do it afraid
7. Be willing to let go of ego and inferiority
a. Let go of ego and thinking we don’t need any help
i. We need help to move mountains
ii. As we step out in faith the resources we need to accomplish our goals will meet us
8. Stop believing we aren’t good enough, smart enough, strong enough, rich enough
a. Faith is not about relying on ourselves and our own resources, but on God and his unlimited resources.
9. Conquer fear
a. Fear is the opposite of faith and works much the same way- it has the power to create what we don’t want to happen
b. He who has conquered doubt and fear has conquered failure. –James Allen
c. Worry is closely related to fear and is a sin
ii. Read and speak the Word- ‘Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God’
iii. We speak positive affirmations
iv. We pay attention to our thoughts.
v. We don’t look too long at our circumstances
vi. Don’t let other people plant doubt & fear in our minds
1. Evaluate others advice-Seek wise council but mentally dismiss anyone’s human view or fears and remember the force of faith is greater
2. Locate and break generational fears. (fear of lack, fear of abandonment)
d. Recognize and counterattack demonic forces with spiritual weapons
We have to have more than a vague faith in God. We need specific goals and a God-ordained vision. Faith that works requires mental discipline. Our minds can be a mess with all kinds of toxic thoughts and emotions, these are like junk food to the spiritual life and to our faith. Our faith becomes weak. Just like a body becomes strong and healthy when exercised regularly and fed the right foods, so faith becomes strong when we discipline our minds and feed our spirit with the word of God and with positive thoughts.
